Vikiran (Literally meaning - Irradiation in Sanskrit) - is the ‘first’ state-of-the-art Radiation Processing Plant in India’s private sector. Set up in collaboration with the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India – it applies advanced Gamma Radiation Process to sterilize Food, Herbal, Ayurvedic, Biological, Medicinal and Disposable Medical Products. In the eco-friendly process, the sterilization happens with the products in packaged conditions without the need for opening the pack; thus avoiding risk of accidental contamination. The Process is ‘cold’ which allows safe sterilization of dry, moist and frozen products. The facility thus enables the customer or the end-user to receive the packaged consumption with the quality and hygiene of the product intact.

India’s most modern processing company and Eastern India’s first, Organic Green Food Limited was the first in the private sector to be established in 2004. The company was established in technical collaboration with the board of radiation and isotope technology (brit), Atomic energy regulatory board and the Government of India. In Dankuni, West Bengal, the company employs highly effective irradiation technology to eliminate micro-organisms in healthcare and food products. It is the first company in India to be supported with nuclear energy in the form of ‘COBALT 60’ which helps in irradiation. These processes have a lethal effect on the micro-organisms in the food, yet leave no residues of toxic particles.
